D10: Making the Case for User Design Centered Approaches in Academic Libraries: Perspectives from Management/Administration

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Doing design focused research is one thing. But how do you use the results of the research to enact change and have an influence on decision-making? It’s not always an easy process, and you need managerial allies to move things along. This session will focus on managerial/administrative approaches to moving design center projects forward to enact change.

Head, Learning and Research Services Department, MSU Bozeman Library
I am a manager of a large public services department for the MSU Bozeman Library. We cover everything from circulation and building management to reference and instruction. My goals for library services are to integrate the physical and digital into a consistent 'united front', presenting the library as a cohesive unit to all our constituents. Service Design is a particular new interest of mine.
